Dieter Günter Bohlen was born in Berne on February 7th, 1954. He grew up with his parents on a farm in East Frisia.
Dieter Bohlen completed his schooling with the Abitur at the commercial high school of the vocational schools in Oldenburg. He then studied business administration in Göttingen and successfully completed his studies in 1978 with a degree in business administration. The musical talent was already evident in school.
At that time he was already successfully writing songs and in the late 1970s received a contract with the Hamburg music publisher Intersong.
After a few unsuccessful attempts, his breakthrough came in 1984 as a singer in the duo “Modern Talking” together with Thomas Anders. At the same time, he worked as a music producer and wrote film music, for example for some episodes of the crime scene.
