42 films within the “Al Sharqiya Film Festival” in Oman

42 films from 17 countries qualified to compete in the competitions of the Al-Sharqiya International Film Festival in its first session, organized by the Oman Film and Theater Association, out of 118 films from local and international cinemas.

According to the Oman News Agency yesterday, in addition to the Sultanate of Oman, Jordan, the Emirates, Bahrain, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Somalia, Iraq, Kuwait, Morocco, Yemen and Iran will participate in this festival, which will be hosted by the Wilayat of Sur from January 11 to 14. Tunisia, Syria, Palestine, and Lebanon.

The number of films qualified in the Narrative Film Competition reached 23 films, in the Documentary Film Competition 14 films, and in the Architecture Competition five Omani films.

The festival hosts a number of Gulf and Arab stars, including: the artist Saad Al-Faraj from the State of Kuwait, the artist Ali Ahmed Al-Sharqawi from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the media personality Zahraa Muhammad from the Republic of Tunisia, and the artist Suhair Fahd from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The Sharqia International Film Festival includes a number of activities over the course of four days, which are summarized in the phrase “Welcome back”, one of the vocabulary used by the people of Tire to welcome the guests and visitors of the festival.
