Season of 100 Women: Farah El Dibani, the Egyptian opera singer, dreams of completing Dalida’s career
The Egyptian Farah El Dibani gained great fame as a mezzo-soprano in the most famous opera houses in the world, and was selected in the BBC list of “100 Inspirational and Influential Women”.
Farah sang the French national anthem at Emmanuel Macron’s victory in the French presidential elections in April 2022, and won the “Wagner Foundation” award, after being selected by the “World of Opera” magazine in Germany as the best young talent in 2018. The French embassy in Cairo also awarded her Knight of the French Order of Arts and Letters.
The young woman in her thirties has several ambitions, including presenting the role of “Aida” in the famous Egyptian opera, and dreams of being like the famous singer Dalida. She also seeks to make opera art available to everyone, especially young people.
