American production company Searchlight Pictures announced yesterday that a film project written and directed by American pop star Taylor Swift is in the works.
“Taylor is a one-of-a-kind artist and author, and it is a real honor and pleasure to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting new creative journey,” Searchlight presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield said in a statement.
The 32-year-old singer is no stranger to the seventh art, as she previously wrote and directed a short film entitled “All Two Will: The Short Film,” which won the MTV Video Music Awards and was eligible for an Oscar nomination in the Best Short Film category.
Last September, during the Toronto Film Festival, the star expressed her desire to direct a film. “I would like to have the opportunity because I love telling stories in this way,” she said.
This year, Swift entered the history of American music, with 10 songs from her tenth album, “Midnights”, which was released on October 21, occupying all the first 10 positions in the “Billboard Hot 100” arrangement, in a first of its kind.
