There is no “Number One” but me

The struggle continues for the title of “Number One” in the Egyptian artistic circles.

Although this term is usually applied to the Egyptian star Mohamed Ramadan, the Egyptian artist Mohy Ismail sparked widespread controversy with his recent statements on the matter.

Ismail was a guest in a television interview, during which he answered a set of short questions.

In his speech, he stressed that no artist bears the title “Number One”, and if there is a necessity for that, then I give myself the title with merit, saying: “There is no one before me or after me, Number One, and there is no one to compete with me at all.”

The first wage in its history

The Czar usually talks, as the audience calls him, about some of his colleagues, most notably Elham Shaheen, who confirmed that he was the first to choose her to participate in the movie “Investigation” based on the story of Naguib Mahfouz, where they told him at the time that they needed a new face, so Mohy Ismail went to the Film Institute and chose one of the girls. Which later became Elham Shaheen.

During his speech, he described himself, saying, “I am a missile that was launched.. If it stopped, it would burn.” Then he mentioned the first wage he received, and at that time it was 100 pounds, given to him by Ramses Naguib for his role in the movie “The Well of Deprivation”, which co-starred Souad Hosni.

It is noteworthy that Ismail is preparing these days to present a new movie called “Comanda”, and revealed that he plays the main character in the events that express him, he said.
