Presented today, Friday, January 13, within the activities of MArab Theater Festival On its fourth day in Casablanca, there were only two theatrical performances, due to the Algerian show (Al-Jathoum) apologizing for attendance. The two shows that will be shown today are “Meet Matt” from Iraq, directed by Ali Al-Zaidi, and the other show is “Supermarket” from Syria, directed and artist Ayman Zaidan.

A “Supermarket” show by Ayman Zaidan deals with a real-life story that took place in 1984 for a group of Italian women who robbed a food store, protesting the high prices and their inability to manage the simplest things of living.

It is noteworthy that the size of Egypt’s participation in Arab Theater Festival It is represented in the theatrical show “What the hell am I doing here?” directed by Carole El Akkad, and the show belongs to the contemporary dance theatre. A workshop on polyphonic theatre, and director Abeer Ali presents a workshop entitled “The playwright’s preoccupations on his issues”. Dr. Nagwa Anous also participates in the jury of the scientific research competition, and Dr. Nabil Bahgat is a member of the jury of the theatrical text competition directed to children. The two Egyptian researchers, Dr. Asmaa Bassam, and Dr. Marwa Wahdan won prizes for scientific research, and in the theatrical text competition for children, three Egyptian authors won.
It is worth noting that the Arab Theater Festival is in its thirteenth session, while the competition for the Prince Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi Award for Best Arab Theatrical Work is in its tenth session, as the first session of the award was launched in 2012 during the fourth session of the festival.
