CW’s latest DC acquisition, ‘Wonder Girl’, is going to be a historic new lead. Based on the DC characters created by Joel Jones, Berlanti Productions produced the TV series, which would feature a Latina female lead. The series will be written and co-produced by Dramin Rodriguez, executive producer and crime drama show, ‘The Queen of the South’.
The series will focus on Yar Flor, a Latino dreamer who is the daughter of an Amazonian warrior and a Brazilian river god. When she realizes that she has the powers of Wonder Girl, she uses this new force to fight evil forces who want to destroy the world. It would mark the first Latina superhero title for a DC TV series.
The previous person to portray a live-action version of Wonder Girl was Connor Leslie on ‘Titans’, portraying Donna Troy alter-ego. The show focuses on Teen Titans who have all grown up and gone their own separate ways. As dark forces gather, they return to their previous home, the Tower of Titan, where they together raise rebel evil.
With Warner Bros. making a link between all the DC Universe last year on ‘Arrow’, ‘The Flash’, ‘Batman’, ‘Supergirl’ and ‘Legends of Tomorrow’, the story of their infinite crisis, a very good one. The story is that Yara Flor’s Wonder Girl will team up with some of these superheroes (mainly based on ratings). With ‘Arrow’ and now ‘Supergirl’ coming to a close, these shows have to be filled in for their annual “TeamApps”.
‘The Flash’, ‘Supergirl’ and ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ is available for streaming Disney + hotstar. ‘Arrow’ is currently running all 8 seasons on ‘Netflix’.
