Huawei Launches Its Own Operating System Called HarmonyOS

After Huawei found itself on the”Thing List,” which prohibited it from purchasing components and products (like licensing Google’s Android) by U.S. businesses, the Chinese giant teased its own smartphone operating system.

Now, that OS has formally been established as HarmonyOS — but it’s not exactly Focused on smartphones.

Revealed at the Huawei Developer Conference in Dongguan, China, by the Firm CEO Richard Yu, HarmonyOS is a”distributed OS” that lets developers develop their programs after, then”flexibly deploy them across a range of different devices.”

This is in contrast to Android and Apple’s iOS, which can be separate (though Partially compatible) with all the firms’ additional platforms.

This means that HarmonyOS will, in theory, offer exactly the Identical experience on a Variety of devices, such as smart TVstablets and phones. In practice, though, Huawei first intends to deploy HarmonyOS into a product called the Honor Smart Screen, could be unveiled this Saturday and launch later this year.

Over the following 3 Decades, HarmonyOS must arrive at additional apparatus, including Wearables and cars.

This is more akin to Samsung’s Tizen, which was also once touted as an Option to Android but has become mainly powering the organization’s smart TVs and wearables.

Especially, Google is also working on a microkernel-based, multi-platform Operating system called Fuchsia.

HarmonyOS will be published as a worldwide, open-source system. However, Huawei says it plans to”put the bases” of HarmonyOS in China, and expand internationally later.

Huawei’s standing at the U.S. has improved marginally in June, with president Trump allowing the company to purchase some U.S. Technology. This may imply that Huawei Will Have the Ability to continue generating Android-based tablets as before, while developing HarmonyOS Sort of backup.
