Marvel Accidentally Reveals Taskmaster Identity – Tech

Is this the end of the long-running mystery surrounding the identity of the taskmaster of the Black Widow?

Marvel’s Black Widow: The Official Movie Special Book recently dropped and fans are already getting new information in the book! Traditionally tie-in material is always released after the release of the film as the nature of some information may prove bad for fans. New images from the book certainly point to the villainous taskmaster of Black Widow.


In an ideal world, we would have seen the movie Black Widow and would be waiting for the November release of Eternal. However, as 2020 unfolded, the virus effectively delayed release MCU Phase 4 Films for one year. In a series of events, Black Widow’s marketing expanded. Now a new tie-in book called Marvel’s Black Widow: The Official Movie Special Book has been posted on social media to fans.

A fan posted some photos from the book, where we can see Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), David Harbor (Alexei Shosktov / Red Guardian), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova) and OT Fagbenley (Rick Mason). Photos are both behind the scenes and on-set.

Interestingly, Fagben’s character Rick Mason is cast Tightly wrapped under. Fans saw their character in these pictures for the first time. In the comic, Rick Mason also goes by the code named ‘The Agent’. He is a former SHEILD associate of Natasha as well as an old flame. During 2019, SDCC Fagbenley hinted at their possible relationship, mentioning Rick, “a complicated relationship with Natasha”.

At MCU, Natasha flirts with Steve Rogers in Captain America: Winter Soldier. He was associated with Bruce Banner aka Hulk at an early age, but that romance never faded. However, fans were constantly striving for a solid love interest in Natasha’s life. As the film directly follows the events of the Civil War, it will be interesting to see how the chemistry of Natasha and Rick.

With a gap of about a year between the two release dates, there is always something that is about to slip away. Gail Gadot’s Wonder Woman in 1984, the book that opened the plot of the film, had a similar marketing slip with Ty. Various leaks were circulating in the last few months. But the one that strikes the most is that who says OT Fagbenle is Rick Maison Taskmaster.

According to the leak, Black Widow and Credit Scene that also set up Thunderbolt The MCU will see the Taskmaster’s true identity as Rick Mason. While any such leak should be taken with a pinch of salt, it seems as if Marvel Studios’ will do something. This is also consistent with the fact that Marvel has placed the character of OT Fagbenley in tight cover with the taskmaster’s identity. In the comic, the taskmaster is a skilled strategy and combat trainer who has photographic reflexes. This makes him a tough opponent as he copies the fighting style of each hero – something we had already seen in the Black Widow trailer.

With all the excitement building up with new photos, whether Fagbenley’s answer is actually MCU’s taskmaster or not is still months away.
