NASA has revealed a photo of a mysterious light in the sky above a road in the Teide National Park at the Canary Islands.
The photo has been showcased by the space agency by photographer Ruslan Merzlyakov as its Astronomy Picture of the Day.
NASA wrote:”What’s that odd light down the road Dust?
“At Specific days of the year, a group of sun-reflecting dust from the inner Solar System appears prominently just after sunset – or just before sunrise – and is called zodiacal light”
Oddly, the origin of the dust stays unclear.
But, The hypothesis is that dust spirals into sunlight and originates largely from Jupiter-family comets that are subdued.
NASA Explained:Recent analysis of dust created by Comet 67P, seen by ESA’s robotic Rosetta spacecraft, bolster this hypothesis.
The light is not the display in the photograph that is magnificent that sky-gazers that are eager can see.
The scene has bright Regulus star of Leo, standing over center, towards the left of the picture.
The Beehive Star Cluster could be observed below centre, closer to the horizon.
