Implementation of One Nation One Ration Card Scheme

PDS is creating a central repository of ration cards to support national level de-duplication. People will get their food quota from any PDS shop located near them in any district across the country. Ration card holders will not be tied to any PDS shop and thus reliance on shop owners will be reduced. The biggest beneficiaries will be migrant laborers who move to other states to seek better employment opportunities and ensure their food security.

Digitization of ration card i.e. connecting the ration card to the Aadhar card is an essential process. To implement the 1 Nation 1 Ration Card Scheme, availability of PoS (Point of Sale) machines at all PDS shops should be ensured. Central government. Has targeted to complete the formalities of the scheme within 1 year. Approximately 78% of Fair Price Shops (FPS) have so far been automated by installing electronic PoS devices.

The IMPDS system is already implemented in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana, Tripura and other states. Here people get ration on subsidy from any district of the state. The Department of Food and Public Distribution is a lifeline for the beneficiaries. Under this department, 612 lakh tonnes of food grains are stored in the warehouses of CWC, SWC, FCI and private warehouses and distributed to 81 crore people annually. Under the NFSA, about 75 crore beneficiaries have been covered so far against the target of 81.35 crore people.

Other initiatives with digitization of ration cards in India

Central government. With the digitization of ration cards in India, we are also working on some other initiatives which are as follows: –
