California’s Simi Valley went up in flames on Oct. 30, 2019 as a result of the Easy Fire, which broke out thanks to the powerful Santa Ana winds. The blaze, already being handled by firefighters, caused residents and horses to evacuate the area; extra caution is also being taken to protect the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, which is in the fire’s path.
Los Angeles County Firehawk helicopters and Angeles National Forest helicopters responded to assist with the fire. The National Weather Service tweeted that the Santa Ana winds could reach up to 50 mph near the Easy Fire.
The fire has destroyed some outbuildings with one residential structure possibly burning off Tierra Rejada. Approximately 26,000 residents have been impacted by the fire with 7,000 homes under evacuation orders — mostly mandatory.
