Wild Warrior Himalayan Adventure Race is in its 7thTh Edition and one of the most grueling and challenging races in India. 2020 edition will be held between 11Th And 13Th December 2020 with Race Day on 12 DecemberTh Of December. The race consists of mountain biking, hiking and rafting sections, running back in a single day ranging from a 10 km race for a novice to a tough 65 km race with back to back adventurers .
The race is a team-based race with 4-6 adventurous teams and has 3 categories as follows:
- 65 km Geotot – 30 km Mountain Biking + 21 km Hiking + 14 km Rafting
- 30 km open – 16 km hiking + 14 km rafting
- 10 km intro – 5 km rafting + 5 km hiking
Keeping everyone’s safety in mind, the race will be capped at 200 participants and will be completely outdoor and span 65 km of Himalayan terrain. The teams will start staggered to ensure there is no congestion in the starting line and all accommodation is in cottages and tents that are far from each other.
The race will be held at the Atali Ganga Resort in Rishikesh on the banks of the Ganges in the state of Uttarakhand and will welcome participants from across the country. Aquatra Adventures, Has been a leading primary event partner in the outdoor adventure space for the past 25 years.
Actor and avid athlete Regina Cassandra will also participate in the 30 km Challenge alongside professional surfers and stand-up paddlers Kutty Rajasekar, Sekar and Anand. He will aim to win the 30 km challenge on the eve of his 30Th Raise funds to support birthdays and at least 30 children. She has previously completed the Wild Warrior Hurdles in Bengaluru and was the winner of the Wild Warrior duathlon in 2018 with the fastest time for a female athlete in the 2.5 km run + 20 km bike + 5 km run event.
Regina Cassandra will be running at the event to raise awareness and funds for the charities she works with; Especially donations that help improve the lives of children from low socio-economic backgrounds. Its foundation stone campaign will be launched on November 7, 2020.
Adventure races and marathons have traditionally been a very effective way to raise money for important causes because they have the ability to spread a message in a consistent and sustained manner.
